Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate a cash register and scanning system, stock and recover merchandise, and support management in protecting company assets.

In this lead role, you may act in the absence of the Store Manager, open and close the store, and help ensure profitable operations while delivering friendly, efficient service to shoppers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and basic math.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner, collect payment, bag merchandise and assist customers.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate displays; follow planograms.
• Clean the store, take out trash, mop floors, and set up sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager's direction.
• Perform duties of Store Manager in their absence.
