Job summary

Michaels Cedar Rapids in Iowa is seeking an energetic Events Coordinator to plan and facilitate in-store events, including kids’ birthday parties, while delivering friendly customer service and helping guests shop.

You will manage multiple tasks such as checkout support, truck unload, stocking, merchandising, and store recovery to maintain brand standards, engage customers of all ages, enroll shoppers in Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent people skills and strong communication.
• Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle job stress and interact with guests of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events including children’s birthday parties.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create fun and creative environments.
• Assist customers in locating products and providing solutions.
• Provide fast and friendly checkout experience.
• Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes.
• Adhere to SOPs and maintain store cleanliness.
