Job summary

Michaels is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and run in-store events including kids' birthday parties and craft classes.

You will interact with guests of all ages, help shoppers, and promote rewards programs while ensuring a fast, friendly checkout experience. The role includes supporting omni-channel processes and store operations, with opportunities to cross-train in Custom Framing.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and coordinating events (including children's parties and craft classes).
• Excellent people skills and ability to engage diverse age groups.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to listen and respond to client needs.
• Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple events and tasks.
• Experience in retail or customer service environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events in-store, including children’s birthday parties and other crafts.
• Engage customers of all ages, guide shopping, and explain rewards programs and private label credit cards.
• Provide fast, friendly checkout and assist at service desks.
• Assist with omni-channel processes (BOPIS, SFS) and inventory tasks.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production as needed.
• Support store cleanliness, safety standards, and SOP adherence.
• Complete administrative tasks such as emails, calls, and paperwork.
