The Fresh Market Inc. is seeking a Store Director in Los Angeles to lead a 70-100 person team and drive exceptional guest experiences while delivering strong financial results.

You set the tone and culture, guide operations, and develop leaders to sustain growth. The role requires strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and a commitment to hospitality and teamwork in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hospitality, or general business.
• Demonstrated success overseeing multiple departments or store-wide operations.
• Strong financial acumen with proven success in achieving sales, margin, and labor goals.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain after hire.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Build a strong talent pipeline by recruiting, developing, and retaining leaders and team members.
• Set clear expectations and hold leaders accountable through regular coaching and constructive feedback.
• Develop and execute store-wide strategies that increase sales, expand market share, and strengthen guest loyalty.
• Use data—including P&L performance, KPIs, labor forecasts, and guest feedback—to identify opportunities and build action plans.
• Ensure effective labor planning, cost control, and operational efficiency to maximize profitability.
• Model high standards for food safety, sanitation, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead store readiness for audits and inspections, ensuring strong follow-up and accountability.
• Serve as the face of the store, ensuring every guest receives warm hospitality and personal attention.
• Coach leaders and team members on guest recovery and proactive service that builds loyalty.
• Engage with local organizations, events, and community partners to deepen the store’s connection to the community.
