Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I for store development, expansion, and remodel projects across NC/SC/VA. You will manage bidding, contracts, and construction activities from pre-construction through close-out, ensuring adherence to prototypes, budgets, and schedules.

The role requires 80% travel Monday–Thursday with a remote office day on Friday, and authorization to work in the USA. Collaboration with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations and others is essential to successful

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers / landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to travel weekly

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes with GC's, CM's, subcontractors and suppliers for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Oversee the compilation of bid documents, RFQs, schedules and ensure timely bid packages.
• Prepare contracts, purchase orders, processing, and payment of requisitions and invoices for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Manage Construction Change Authorization/Change Order process to ensure changes are valid and timely payments.
• Direct project meetings with GC's, CM's, vendors and internal partners to drive on-time store openings.
• Oversee redline reviews of ARCH/MEP plans for compliance with prototype standards and codes.
• Develop and implement cost-saving ideas including value engineering and construction methods.
• Plan and monitor schedules, milestones, and critical equipment delivery; coordinate with departments.
