Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA, a division of the global food retailer, is seeking a Project Manager I in Store Development to lead new store, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through close-out, ensuring budgets and schedules align with prototype standards.

The role requires up to 80% travel across North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, with a remote office day on Friday; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; Preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to recognize construction risk, evaluate alternatives and drive issues to resolution.
• Ability to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage the bidding and awarding processes related to all GC's/CM's, subcontractors and suppliers for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Manage the preparation of contracts, purchase orders, processing, and payment of all requisitions and invoices.
• Oversee the project schedules, phase plans, two-week look-ahead, milestones and equipment delivery schedules.
• Develop and implement cost-saving ideas, including value engineering and construction means/methods.
