Job summary

H-E-B stores in Frisco, TX are seeking a Store Department Lead to supervise and develop a well-stocked department, while delivering excellent customer service. This role includes scheduling, training Partners, inventory support, and ensuring food safety and department standards.

You will coach teams, handle customer inquiries, apply product knowledge, and work with other department leads to meet sales and quality goals in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g., safety rules, operating / maintenance instructions, production planners, procedure manuals)
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Partners
• Ability to apply common sense / understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Education: Associate's degree (AA), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 6+ months of related experience and / or training
• Licenses/Certifications: Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training

Responsibilities

• Lead store department operations and training, including scheduling and supervision
• Provide superior customer service and assist customers by phone or in person
• Assist with inventory control and production planning
• Train Partners and address complaints or issues promptly
• Support bakery, deli, produce and other department leads as needed
• Ensure food safety and sanitation, and uphold store procedures
