Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Store Department Lead to steward a well-stocked, well-maintained department and deliver superior customer service. You will supervise scheduling, train Partners, and occasionally back up the Department Manager, with responsibilities across Bakery, Produce, Deli, and other areas.

Strong leadership, inventory control, and the ability to foster a helpful shopping environment are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

18+ years old (minimum)
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent; two-year college or technical school experience accepted
Completion of Company Orientation, food safety and sanitation training, and eCommerce Online Ordering training
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and production planners
Willingness to perform multiple department duties (Bakery, Deli, Produce, etc.) and lead a team
Able to lift and carry items as per department requirements per safety guidelines

Responsibilities

Lead department operations and scheduling, and back up to the Department Manager
Train and develop Partners, directing work and resolving issues
Provide superior customer service and assist customers with product selection
Oversee inventory control and sanitation across departments
Supervise a diverse set of areas (Bakery, Produce, Deli, Beauty, etc.) as assigned
