Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 1-2 years supermarket management experience.
• Experience leading and developing store staff.

Responsibilities

• Assists the store manager in implementing a sales-building culture with merchandising programs and weekly plans.
• Provides high levels of customer service with emphasis on front-end quick service.
• Accountable for achieving budgeted financial results in the assigned area and supports overall store results.
• Protects company assets: merchandise, cash, facilities and equipment; conducts weekly manager audits.
• Controls store expenses including wage percent to meet budget.
• Assists in staffing: forecasting needs, recruitment and training; develops a bench for hi-potential staff.
• Ensures employees understand performance expectations and conducts regular reviews.
• Maintains awareness of store conditions via frequent store walks.
• Trains and develops store management, especially department managers.
• Ensures sanitation and food safety standards are maintained throughout the store.
• Creates positive morale through supervision and recognition; fosters selling culture.
• Maintains effective communication with Store Manager, Field Merchandisers and staff.
• Ensures store operations comply with company standards and audits.
• Ensures compliance with all laws and company policies.
• Maintains a safe facility for customers and employees.
