Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store Orange in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking an enthusiastic Store Assistant Manager to help lead daily store operations and support the ARC program. You will focus on delivering a positive shopping and donor experience, while upholding ARC policies and community standards.

Responsibilities include partnering with the Store Manager, supervising staff, handling cash and payroll records, and driving sales through KPI analysis and effective coaching.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• Basic understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid Driver's license, pass MVR, proof of insurance, and have access to a vehicle.
• Background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager in day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing, POS, inventory, and donations.
• Handle day-to-day operations in the absence of Store Manager, including scheduling and payroll records.
• Monitor and analyze KPIs to drive sales and profitability per budgets and goals.
• Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and lead team meetings.
• Recruit, train, and develop store employees; provide performance coaching.
• Maintain customer and donor satisfaction and strengthen community relations.
• Support Back Room Processing to meet daily goals.
• Oversee protection and security of currency, inventory, and store property.
• Ensure safety measures comply with ARC policy and regulations; attend safety meetings.
