Job summary

Ben & Jerry's Connecticut is seeking a Riverwalk Scoop Shop Manager & Catering Assistant Operations Manager. You will lead daily shop operations, drive sales, and support a growing catering program across New Jersey, CT, and beyond.

You will set the tone for the team, ensure guest happiness, monitor labor and costs, and uphold food safety and POS standards. This role includes late hours, weekends, and some travel with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management or general management experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people skills.
• Operational confidence and a team-focused mindset.
• A big heart, high standards, and a love for great ice cream.
• Understand that nights, weekends, and holidays are part of the deal.

Responsibilities

• Set the tone -- your energy, your smile, and your sense of urgency are contagious and your team will follow your lead.
• Create an environment where every customer leaves happier than when they walked in.
• Keep a sharp eye on labor, cost of goods, and daily operations -- the numbers matter as much as the vibe.
• Drive sales up and costs down without losing the fun.
• Uphold all food safety standards, POS accuracy, and cash handling procedures.
• Be available for late nights (past 11pm), weekends, and select holidays -- this is a dessert business, and the best hours aren't 9-to-5.
• Bring at least 2 years of retail food experience and a genuine understanding of small business operations.
• Stay tech-savvy -- social media presence, paperwork, and operational systems are part of your world.
• Lead with honesty and integrity, always.

Riverwalk Scoop Shop Manager & Catering Assistant Operations Manager

This is a dual-role opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, ownership, and making things run beautifully. You'll lead the Riverwalk Scoop Shop day-to-day and play a key supporting role in growing our catering business. As Catering Assistant Operations Manager, You Will

• Support the overall success of our catering operation based out of Riverwalk, with reach into New Jersey and potentially Florida and CT
• Bring fresh, creative ideas to help grow the catering side of the business
• Help implement and manage catering operations under the Chief Administrator & Catering Manager -- including planning, logistics, equipment, marketing, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure all systems align with franchise standards (Square, Salesforce, etc.)
• Support proper training of catering staff -- daily operations, customer relations, cleanliness, and staff orientation
• Show up for events: prep before and after, ensure operational excellence on-site, and motivate the crew
• Maintain presentation standards, portion control, and proper serving temperatures at every event
• Help build a motivated team culture where growth and advancement are real possibilities
• Be comfortable working outdoors and able to lift, carry, and move approximately 25 lbs
