Ocean State Job Lot is hiring a Store Area Supervisor in Massachusetts. You will oversee daily operations and merchandising of assigned areas, ensure smooth freight flow, and support the Team Leader. This role provides a development path toward leadership within OSJL.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in retail, strong customer service skills, and comfort with daily scheduling, training, and inventory control. OSJL offers great perks and a clear path for growth.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in retail environments.
• Training experience and merchandise ordering, receiving, stocking, and maintenance experience in retail environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Champion exceptional customer service and foster an inclusive environment.
• Bridge the gap between customers and corporate customer service for resolutions.
• Promote company initiatives (donations, loyalty programs, promotions).
• Create effective work schedules for your area.
• Provide guidance and support to your team to ensure task completion.
• Support training for store associates and growth across levels.
• Manage merchandise presentation and ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Maintain accurate signage, stock, and sales floor flow.
• Verify pricing, report errors, and perform daily manifest checks.
• Identify, separate, and display priority items effectively.
• Handle packaways, returns, transfers, recalls, and returns per policy.
• Uphold store safety and maintenance standards.
• When designated, supervise store operations including opening/closing.
• Operate a cash register as needed.
• Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
