Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Solutions Engineer – Storage & Virtualization to own the pre-sales solution design, translating client needs into scalable scopes and Statements of Work that guide delivery teams. The role partners with client executives to ensure designs deliver business outcomes and meet SLAs.

You will design storage and virtualization solutions, standardize SOWs, and lead design efforts within your pod to ensure feasibility and clean handoffs to engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience designing client-facing infrastructure solutions with a focus on storage and virtualization.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical designs, scopes, and SOWs that delivery teams can execute.
• Working knowledge of virtualization platforms and enterprise storage concepts (e.g., hypervisors, SAN/NAS, backup/DR fundamentals).
• Strong written communication skills with a high standard for documentation quality and clarity.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to confirm solution intent, reduce ambiguity, and ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to implementation.
• Incorporate delivery feedback and outcomes to continuously improve scoping quality, clarity, and repeatability.

Responsibilities

• Own solution design in the pre-sales motion, translating client needs into scalable scopes and SOWs for delivery teams.
• Partner with Client Executives as the technical liaison for storage and virtualization opportunities.
• Translate discovery inputs into solution direction, documenting assumptions, constraints, and dependencies for sound technical decisions.
• Design accurate, scalable storage and virtualization solutions aligned to service standards and SLA requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and standardize Scopes/Statements of Work (SOWs) for proposals and handoffs.
• Lead solution design efforts within the assigned pod structure, ensuring feasibility and actionable engineering deliverables.
