Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to oversee day-to-day store operations, staff development, and customer service excellence. The role focuses on planning staffing, coaching team members, and driving sales while maintaining store standards and shrink control.

You will mentor hourly employees and assist with promotions, training, and ensuring a safe, welcoming shopping environment across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and direct team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members across store departments.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Oversee staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Drive store sales while maintaining shrink and controlling P&L.
• Model exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and daily operations.
• Ensure training and development opportunities for staff are pursued.
