Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires two years of recent experience in Sterile Processing in an acute hospital or Surgical Tech background with SPD experience.
• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program including 400 clinical hours or Surgical Tech program.
• Basic knowledge of instrument processing techniques (decontamination, assembly, sterilization).
• Ability to distinguish colors and hear alarms; strong attention to safety and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Fill orders from requesting departments and prepare sterile instruments for use.
• Perform decontamination, assembly, wrapping, and dating of OR sets per policy and manufacturer guidance.
• Operate Sterile Processing Department equipment and validate PM status where required.
• Perform instrument tracking and documentation of sterilizer records.
• Prepare OR case carts according to preference cards and maintain sterile packages.
• Promote good customer service and teamwork within SPD and with OR staff.
