Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Woodland, CA seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment. You will assemble, inspect, and wrap OR sets, operate sterilizers, and ensure proper documentation and PM validation within a fast-paced hospital Sterile Processing Department.

Applicants should have two years of recent Sterile Processing experience, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of an accredited Sterile Processing program (400 hours).

Qualifications

• Two years recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program (400 hours).
• Certification in CS Processing or Surgical Technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill orders from requesting departments.
• Make rounds, clean and validate equipment for storage; verify PM status.
• Answer phones and assist with department requests.
• Inventory, restock supplies, and manage specialty carts per policy.
• Order beds and patient equipment as needed.
• Disassemble, clean, and decontaminate surgical instruments; ultrasonic cleaning.
• Assemble and inspect OR sets per protocol; wrap and date sets.
• Operate sterilisers, endoscope reprocessors, and related equipment.
• Use tracking system to document tests and sterilizer records.
• Examine package integrity and prepare OR case carts.
