Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, sterilize, and distribute medical instruments and supplies. You will work in SPD, operating steam/plasma sterilizers and endoscope reprocessors, while ensuring proper packaging and documentation.

The role requires 2 years of SPD experience, completion of an accredited sterile processing program, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program including 400 clinical hours or Surgical Technician program.

Responsibilities

• Fill orders from requesting departments.
• Return soiled equipment to SPD and validate functionality.
• Inventory and restock supplies and carts per policy.
• Disassemble/clean/sterilize instruments per manufacturer guidance.
• Assemble, inspect, test, wrap, and date OR sets.
• Operate sterilization and processing equipment in SPD.
• Document tests and sterilizer records in the tracking system.
• Prepare OR case carts per preference cards.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
