Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies for the hospital and clinics. The role includes charging and logging of services and daily biological testing.

The ideal candidate has an accredited Sterile Processing education and a current CRCST or CSPDT certification, with ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays in a busy academic health system.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology.
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current CRCST or CSPDT certification. Must maintain certification with CEUs and renewals.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment.
• Charging, billing and logging of service and patient charges for the OR.
• Daily biological testing.
• Participate in special projects and performance improvement initiatives.
