Job summary

UCI Health in California seeks a Central Sterile Tech to support decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies throughout the hospital and clinics. You will also handle charging, billing and logging of OR services and perform daily biological testing.

Requires completion of an accredited Sterile Processing program or Surgical Technology and a current CRCST or CSPDT certification, with ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology.
• Knowledge and practice of infection control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current full CRCST or CSPDT certification. Must maintain certification by CEUs and renewing certification.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment.
• Charge, billing and logging of service as well as patient charges for the OR.
• Performs daily biological testing.
• Participates in department and medical center-wide performance improvement projects.
