Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies for the hospital and clinics. You will also handle charging, billing and logging of service for the OR and perform daily biological testing.

Ideal candidates will have completed an accredited Sterile Processing program or 18 months of related experience, knowledge of infection control, and current CRCST or CSPDT certification.

Qualifications

• Completed accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program or 18 months related experience.
• Knowledge of infection control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current CRCST or CSPDT certification with CEU renewal requirements.
• Preferred: experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment.
• Perform daily biological testing and logging of service.
• Assist with charging, billing and logging for the OR and patient charges.
• Participate in department and medical center-wide performance improvement projects as requested.
