Job summary

UC Davis Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee daily SPD operations, ensuring sterile processing, reprocessing, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment. The role requires supervising staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and collaborating with perioperative services to support patient safety.

Qualified candidates will have five years of SPD experience, specific certifications, and an ability to plan workflow efficiently.

Qualifications

• Five years of recent SPD experience or similar setting.
• CRCST from HSPA or CSPDT from CBSPD.
• Advance certification within 6 months of hire (CIS, CSIS, CER, CFER, CHL or CSPM).
• Maintain certifications with CEUs.

Responsibilities

• 60% - Supervision & leadership of SPD staff.
• 15% - Instrument tracking system, training, other duties.
• 10% - Assembly of instrument sets and carts.
• 5% - Sterilization responsibilities.
• 5% - Surgical case cart assembly.
• 5% - Decontamination responsibilities
