Job summary

Duke is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead the SPD team at Arringdon Ambulatory Surgery Center. You will oversee daily operations, ensure infection control compliance, and coordinate instrument readiness between the OR and SPD.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in SPD, with leadership experience, and CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification. The role requires strong staff development skills and cost-conscious process improvements. This is an on-site leadership position at the Duke health system.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related field preferred; two years leadership experience may substitute.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician including one year in leadership.
• Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD) is required.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise sterile processing staff during shifts and monitor daily department operations.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and standards.
• Coordinate instrumentation readiness and liaison between OR and SPD.
• Monitor inventory and procurement activities; identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Provide staff development, mentoring, and performance feedback.
