Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee SPD staff at Arringdon Ambulatory Surgery Center. You will ensure timely instrumentation, enforce infection control standards, and coordinate with OR to maintain high-quality, efficient operations.

The role requires at least 3 years in sterile processing with leadership experience and certification (CRCST, HSPA, or CBSPD). Aide in staff development and budget-conscious practices within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; two years of leadership may substitute for degree.
• Minimum three years as Sterile Processing Technician with at least one year of leadership experience.
• Current certification: CRCST, HSPA, or CBSPD.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise sterile processing staff during shifts and ensure quality and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and industry standards.
• Coordinate with OR and SPD to have instruments ready on time and manage inventory and par levels.
• Monitor infection control and sterilization practices to meet quality standards.
• Develop staff through mentoring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
• Lead workflow, scheduling, training, and performance management of SPD staff.
• Utilize instrumentation tracking systems (SPM, Epic, Dove Tree) and provide cost-control insights.
