Job summary

St Anthony North Hospital is seeking a Sterile Equipment Tech Lead to oversee decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of instruments while guiding staff and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role includes equipment operation, record-keeping, cross-department coordination and training responsibilities.

The candidate will lead daily task assignments, manage staffing as needed, and may assume supervisory duties in the absence of leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of sterile equipment processing experience.
• Knowledge of AAMI, AORN, JC and OSHA guidelines.
• Certified Registered Central Services Tech or CBSPD certification.
• Within 1 year of hire, obtain CIS/CSIS/CER/CFER/CHL/CSPM/CASSPT.

Responsibilities

• Assign, instruct and check the work of others.
• Prioritize and reassign staff to meet production needs.
• Advise on staffing levels to support services.
• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble and wrap supplies and instruments; sterilize per method.
• Understand principles of sterilization equipment including endoscope reprocessing.
• Operate steam and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers and ensure equipment functions with monitors.
