Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to coordinate the cleaning, sterilizing, assembling and distribution of instruments under the Sterile Processing Supervisor. You will assist with staff training, inventory management, and ensure equipment operates correctly to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring processing workflows, maintaining policies, and supporting ongoing staff development while complying with ethics and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school degree required.
• Expert knowledge of sterile technique, AAMI standards and surgical instrumentation.
• Certified in Sterile Processing.

Responsibilities

• Oversees processing, decontaminating, sterilizing and delivering surgical instruments and patient care items per policy.
• Assist with staff orientation, training and evaluations under the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
• Maintain inventory, order supplies and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Support quality assurance activities and adherence to procedures.
