Job summary

South Shore Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor in Massachusetts. You will coordinate department workflow, supervise staff, and ensure QA compliance across decontamination, instrument assembly, high-level disinfection, sterilization, and cart assembly.

The role requires 3-5 years of sterile processing experience in an acute care hospital setting, with supervision responsibilities and a focus on safety and regulatory compliance within SPD.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in Central Services or SPD/related area.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and case cart assembly.
• Ability to lead others to achieve department goals.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement program and maintains documentation for sterilizers, logs, and QA records.
• Oversees equipment operation and performs timely corrective actions when needed.
• Manages shift reports, daily assignment sheets, and interdepartmental communication.
• Assists CPD staff with proper handling, assembly of instruments, and inventory maintenance.
• Maintains electronic asset tracking and generates case pick lists for carts as cases are added.
• Promotes a Culture of Safety and ensures compliance with universal precautions and safety regulations.
