Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is seeking a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician to guide the SPD team, ensure instrument readiness, and uphold safety and quality standards in a busy surgical environment.

You will lead cleaning, sterilization, and inventory activities, train staff, and collaborate with the surgical team to keep operations on schedule. A CRCST certification and 3+ years of SPD experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of SPD experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST certification required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays to ensure readiness for patient care.
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment with detailed records of cycles and safety checks.
• Prepare surgical sets and case carts by reviewing daily schedules and gathering instruments and supplies.
• Manage inventory and organize supplies in OR storage, supporting surgeries to run smoothly and on time.
• Lead and train the Sterile Processing team, share updates on equipment and processes, and foster a safe, high-quality environment.
