Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Dept. Supervisor to lead the shift, prioritizing and coordinating workflow to ensure decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment.

The supervisor serves as a resource, ensures infection control practices are followed, manages workloads, scheduling, and performance evaluations to deliver excellent customer service and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience
• Minimum three years’ work experience as a CST in a leadership capacity
• Current CRCST or CST certification
• Infection control techniques knowledge and medical terminology familiarity

Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Dept. Supervisor will supervise, prioritize, and coordinate team work flow for the shift.
• Will ensure the appropriate decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department.
• The supervisor acts as a resource, and ensures that infection control practices are followed.
• Coordinates, plans and assigns workloads and manages employee activities, time reporting, and scheduling.
• Will manage the performance of team members to ensure excellent customer service and effective operations; this includes, completion of performance evaluations and corrective/ disciplinary action if necessary.
