Job summary

UCI Health seeks a Sterile Processing Dept. Supervisor to lead the shift’s activities, ensuring proper decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment. You will supervise staff, coordinate workloads, and reinforce infection control practices across the team.

Reporting to the Sterile Processing leadership, you will evaluate performance, drive customer service, and manage scheduling while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program or 18 months Sterile Processing experience.
• Minimum three years in a CST leadership role.
• Infection control techniques and medical terminology knowledge.
• Current CRCST or CST certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, prioritize, and coordinate shift workflows for the department.
• Ensure proper decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment.
• Serve as a resource and enforce infection control practices; manage workloads and scheduling.
• Evaluate and develop team performance, including evaluations and disciplinary actions when necessary.
