Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Specialty Pharmacy Technician I in New Jersey to support sterile compounding under pharmacist supervision. You will prepare sterile IV admixtures, maintain aseptic technique, and ensure compliance with USP standards while documenting activities.

This role requires a Pharmacy Technician license and certification within 180 days, strong attention to detail, and ability to work with a healthcare team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year hospital or similar experience.
• Pharmacy Technician License with PTCB or ExCPT within 180 days of start.
• Knowledge of USP standards and sterile compounding equipment.
• Proficiency with EPIC and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile medications including IV admixtures following protocols.
• Maintain aseptic technique to ensure patient safety.
• Conduct quality assurance on equipment, cleanrooms, and hoods.
• Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of sterile drugs.
• Document compounding activities with batch records and logs.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and other staff to meet patient needs.
