Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician I to join our team in New Jersey. You will support pharmacists with sterile compounding, IV admixtures, unit-dose dispensing, and parenteral preparations while upholding aseptic techniques and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include inventory control, documentation, loading medications into ADC, and collaborating with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital or similar experience.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, USP standards, and compounding equipment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a sterile environment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with EPIC software.
• Strong knowledge of brand and generic medications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile medications and non-hazardous IV admixtures per USP standards and protocols.
• Maintain aseptic techniques throughout compounding to ensure patient safety.
• Conduct routine cleaning, testing, and monitoring of compounding equipment and cleanrooms for quality.
• Manage inventory of sterile compounding drugs and supplies; ensure proper storage.
• Maintain accurate records of compounding activities and batch documentation.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to meet patient needs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and PPE use; report hazards.
• Assist licensed pharmacists to formulate, label and dispense medications.
