Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for per diem, PRN coverage. The RN will deliver patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and coordinate patient teaching across the care continuum.

The role requires current Ohio RN licensure, BLS/ACLS preferred, and 1 year of RN experience. This position supports flexible scheduling with hospital departments and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required).
• 1 year of RN experience (required); will consider New Grads and RNs with less than 1 year experience.
• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred).
• ACLS/CCRN/PCCN NIH Stroke Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates effectiveness.
• Administers medications safely in line with policies and procedures.
• Serves as point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
• Acts as patient safety advocate and participates in quality improvement.
• Collaborates with spiritual care, palliative care and ethics for patient advocacy.
