Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Ohio is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for per diem shifts. The RN delivers patient care using the nursing process, conducts assessments, plans and evaluates care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes medication administration, care coordination across departments, patient advocacy, and participation in quality improvement. An RN license, BLS, and ACLS (preferred) are required or pursued within 6 months of hire; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice or compact
• BLS required; ACLS preferred (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
• CCRN/ PCCN preferred but not required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment and plans/implements care
• Administers medications safely per policies
• Serves as point of contact for care coordination across departments
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Advocates for patients and families in collaboration with spiritual/palliative care and ethics
