Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH, is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for part-time night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). You will deliver patient care using the nursing process, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, provide education to patients and families, and advocate for safe, high-quality care.

The role requires an active RN license (state or compact); BLS/ACLS as applicable; and 1 year of RN experience (new grads with 6 months in acute care are considered).

Qualifications

• RN license in state or compact
• BLS or ACLS (required/preferred)
• 1 year RN experience (or new grads with 6 months RN experience)
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment and plan of care.
• Administer medications following policies.
• Coordinate care across departments and with families.
• Support patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
• Educate patients and families about care plans.
• Act as patient advocate and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• Manage care for patients with complex conditions and critical needs.
• Apply nursing process to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with professional practice standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients and teams.
• Demonstrate professionalism and resource stewardship.
