Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care (Step down) unit at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The role emphasizes elevating patient care in a diverse intermediate unit handling cardiac and respiratory conditions.

The RN will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, effective healing. BSN preferred; state RN licensure required; BLS/ACLS preferred at hire.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred, not required.
• Current RN license in the state of Ohio or eligible.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or ACLS preferred at hire, ACLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care and assess patient status with strong organizational skills.
• Act as the care line between Med-Surg and ICU units and coordinate plans.
• Develop and execute patient care plans to improve outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and advocate for patient safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in quality improvement.
