Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH seeks a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient care using the nursing process across the lifespan. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, coordinate teaching, and direct patient care activities on a 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM schedule.

Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, medication administration, safety advocacy, and patient advocacy. Supports professional practice and quality improvement within the unit.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state they are working or covered by compact.
• BLS or ACLS (preferred at hire; ACLS within 6 months).
• CCRN (preferred).
• PCCN (preferred).
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred).
• BSN preferred; 1 year RN experience required or new grads accepted.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment and plans care.
• Administers medications according to policies and procedures.
• Serves as care coordination point across hospital departments.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Provides patient education and collaborates with families.
• Manages patients with multi-system issues using evidence-based practice.
