Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a current Wake Tech student enrolled in Curriculum Education classes
• Must have received a final grade of A or B in the courses they tutor
• Must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.00

Responsibilities

• Attends all scheduled tutoring sessions and notifies program coordinator if a session must be cancelled
• Assists the ILC, DSS, and Academic Support Centers with meeting the needs of students needing tutoring in STEM courses
• Provides subject-area knowledge and models effective learning strategies
• Prepares for tutoring by reviewing notes and materials and starting sessions promptly
• Helps students understand course content, aids studying and note-taking, and reviews for tests
• Teaches and facilitates study skills and strategies
• Maintains confidentiality regarding academic progress or personal information
