Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a current Wake Tech student enrolled in Curriculum Education classes.
• Must have received a final grade of A or B in the course(s) they will tutor.
• Must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.00.

Responsibilities

• Attends all scheduled tutoring sessions and notifies program coordinator if a session must be cancelled.
• Assists the ILC, DSS, and Academic Support Centers with tutoring needs in specific STEM curriculum courses.
• Provides subject-area knowledge and models effective learning strategies for students.
• Prepares for tutoring sessions by reviewing notes and materials and starts sessions promptly.
• Helps with understanding course content, studying, and note-taking; reviews for tests and finals.
• Teaches and facilitates study skills and strategies.
• Maintains absolute confidentiality regarding academic progress and personal information.
