Job summary

Santa Fe College seeks student Peer Tutors to support one-on-one tutoring in STEM subjects, both in person at NW Learning Commons and online at the RISE Center and Library, and at College Centers. Tutors may represent the Learning Commons at campus events and connect students to academic resources, offering feedback to improve services.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled SF student, in good academic and behavioral standing, and taking six (6) or more credit hours for each semester of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides meaningful and high-quality learning support through tutoring in person and online.
• Participates in all department trainings including CRLA; receives and incorporates peer and supervisor feedback to improve tutoring effectiveness.
• Connects students to academic resources by providing effective referrals within the Learning Commons and to other college resources.
• Effectively uses digital tools and platforms to provide tutoring, input summaries of student interactions, and assessment.
• Represents the Learning Commons at on-campus events.
• Complies with all published College Rules, procedures, guidelines, and laws/regulations governing public employees, including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction, FERPA, and confidentiality.
• Strictly honors the privacy, security, and confidentiality of records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
