Job summary

D7 Pneumatics LLC in Indianapolis seeks a skilled Millwright with welding capabilities to join our maintenance division for fall shutdowns. You will maintain, repair, and install industrial machinery across steel mills, sawmills, and power plants.

Ideal candidates have a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent, strong MIG/TIG/Stick welding experience, and a solid background in mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in steel mills, sawmills, and power plants.
• Strong welding experience (MIG, TIG, Stick) with diverse materials.
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, high elevations, and extreme temperatures.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail and safety.
• Commitment to safety protocols and a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repairs: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, crushers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other industrial machinery in coal mining operations, sawmills, and auto plants.
• Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication of parts, structures, and equipment as needed. Conduct welding inspections to ensure high-quality, safe work.
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment.
• Installation & Commissioning: Assist with the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new equipment in mining, sawmill, and automotive production lines.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and work in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring that work areas are always safe and clean.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and management to ensure efficient operations and quick resolution of mechanical issues.
• Problem Solving: Apply strong troubleshooting skills to identify mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.
