Job summary

D7 Pneumatics LLC seeks an experienced Millwright with strong welding capabilities to join our maintenance division during scheduled fall shutdowns. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial machinery across steel mills, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have MIG/TIG/Stick welding experience, a solid mechanical background, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Previous industrial maintenance experience, preferably in steel mills, sawmills, and power plants.
• Strong welding experience (MIG/TIG/Stick) with multiple materials (steel, stainless etc).
• Understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, high elevations and extreme temperatures.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail and safety.
• Must adhere to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, conveyors, crushers, pumps, motors, gearboxes and other machinery.
• Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication of parts and structures.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime.
• Assist with installation, alignment and commissioning of new equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and management for efficient operations.
• Apply strong troubleshooting skills to identify failures and implement effective solutions.
