Job summary

Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Material Handler to ensure safe, efficient movement of steel and related materials. You will perform lifting, loading, and unloading tasks, operate or assist with forklifts and cranes, and follow safety protocols daily.

The role requires reading work orders, maintaining inventory, coordinating with teams, and inspecting equipment for safety. This on-site position offers opportunities for growth and training within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Read work orders or receive instructions to determine material or equipment needs.
• Ability to meet or exceed productivity levels.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Maintain inter-department communications on routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills.
• May require strong customer relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow Triple-S safe methods of work at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
• Safely and properly move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand, forklift, overhead crane or other equipment.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet; use PPE as required.
• Apply proper bundling techniques.
• Configure load based on planned route including multiple stops.
• Maximize load capacity on trailer without sacrificing safety.
• Maintain and safely operate all assigned tools and equipment.
• Determine safety issues pertaining to equipment and promptly report them.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, regularly exposed to typical local weather.
• Attend required company meetings and perform other duties.
