Job summary

Triple-S Steel Holdings, Inc. in San Antonio, TX seeks a Material Handler to read work orders, move steel, and support on-site production and delivery activities. This hourly role requires adherence to Safe Methods of Work and teamwork to meet customer requirements.

You will operate forklifts and cranes, handle loads safely, and maintain tooling and clean workspaces while following company procedures. Overtime may be required to meet customer needs, with a focus on safety and accurate material

Qualifications

• Read work orders accurately to determine material or equipment needs.
• Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels set by the Company.
• Plan and organize tasks independently, both alone and with a team.
• Develop knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Maintain inter-department communications regarding routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Demonstrate basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Customer relations skills may be required.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safe Methods of Work at all times and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Safely move steel to/from storage, production areas, loading docks, and delivery vehicles using hand tools, forklift, or crane.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances and heights described in the job post.
• Apply proper bundling techniques and prepare loads for transport.
• Configure loads based on planned routes with multiple stops.
• Maximize load capacity on trailers without compromising safety.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (tape measure, caliper, hammer, pallet trucks, etc.).
• Attend required company meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
