Job summary

Triple-S Steel is hiring a Material Handler in Houston, TX. You will safely move steel products, load/unload, and prepare materials for shipment, while following safety standards and productivity targets.

The role requires stamina to lift and move heavy items, and the ability to operate forklifts and cranes. You will work in all weather, maintain load accuracy, and support warehouse processes daily.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret work orders or receive instructions to determine material needs.
• Capable of meeting productivity targets while ensuring quality and safety.
• Ability to plan and organize tasks independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of product and inventory control practices is helpful.
• Effective inter-department communication regarding routing, safety, and customer relations.
• Basic math skills and willingness to learn applicable procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions to supervision.
• Move steel to/from storage, production areas, loading docks, and delivery vehicles using hand tools or equipment.
• Attach slings, hooks, or devices to lift materials and guide loads; assist with tying and releasing loads.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and move objects across varying distances daily.
• Configure loads for planned routes and maximize trailer capacity without compromising safety.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment; report safety issues promptly.
• Work indoors/outdoors in varied weather; maintain situational awareness around moving objects.
• Attend mandatory meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
