Union College is seeking a Stationary Engineer Level II to assist in the operations, maintenance, and repair of the central plant equipment and the downstream steam and chilled water distribution in Schenectady, NY. The role involves starting, stopping, and emergency procedures for plant systems, monitoring alarms, and coordinating with vendors.

The position requires an Associate degree in plant utilities or related field, 3–5 years of boiler/operator experience, and licensure as a Stationary

Qualifikationen

• Associates degree in plant utilities, electrical, or mechanical engineering with 3–5 years’ boiler operator/ stationary engineer experience.
• Experience operating high pressure steam boilers and distribution.
• Experience with central plant chiller systems and distributed chilled water.
• Experience operating 13.2KV and 480V breakers through a Load Management System (LMS).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and Adobe.
• Knowledge of distributive control systems (DCS).
• Valid New York State driver’s license.
• Licensed as a Stationary Engineer, and/or Navy plant operator.

Aufgaben

• Assist with startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures for plant systems (gas turbine, gas compressor, HRSG, boilers, chillers, cooling towers).
• Monitor control room instrumentation and alarms; take corrective actions.
• Use building management systems (BMS) for performance and deficiency measures.
• Assist with building switchovers by draining or filling AHU coils as needed.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, chillers, HRSG, turbine, generators, cooling towers, and air compressors.
• Identify leaks, noises, and abnormal conditions and perform repairs or replacements.
• Lock-out-Tag-out procedures when working on equipment; coordinate with vendors for services.
• Track maintenance using the Works system.
