Job summary

Ohio Department of Children and Youth is seeking a subject‑matter expert in early language and literacy development to shape statewide professional learning for professionals across Ohio’s child- and family‑serving systems.

You will design, support, and improve literacy-focused training, translating research into practical tools and guidance to support children’s development from birth through early elementary years.

Qualifications

• Completion of an undergrad core program in a related field and 36 months’ exp in researching, developing or implementing policies for social services or public policy.
• Graduate coursework or 24 months’ exp in researching, developing or implementing related policies in social services or public policy.
• Equivalent minimum qualifications for employment as listed in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as DCY’s expert on literacy and language development.
• Design, support and improve literacy-focused training statewide.
• Create guidance documents, tools and resources for consistent instructional design.
• Collaborate with DCY, ODEW, and partners to align initiatives.
• Monitor research and translate findings into practical training materials.
