Job summary

State-of-Oklahoma is hiring a Literacy Coach to serve as an instructional leader, applying explicit, multisensory literacy methods to support struggling readers and ensure alignment with state standards. The role emphasizes collaboration with school staff, families, and community partners to design evidence-based programs.

The position requires 90% field-based work with travel to coaching schools and occasional statewide professional development and team meetings at the State Department of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Literacy, or a related field.
• Five (5) years of successful literacy instruction experience OR Master’s degree in education and three (3) years of successful literacy instruction experience.
• Valid Oklahoma teaching certificate.
• Completion of 30+ hours of literacy training based on the science of reading (e.g., LETRS, AIM Pathways, IMSE).

Responsibilities

• Lead literacy instruction using explicit, multisensory methods.
• Collaborate with educators to tailor intervention plans.
• Provide coaching and professional development to staff.
• Ensure compliance with Strong Reader’s Act and state standards.
• Travel to coaching schools as required.
