Job summary

State of Minnesota is seeking a Fleet Supervisor to lead the statewide fleet program. You will manage a team ensuring safe, reliable vehicles and equipment across Minnesota, while driving cost-effective, environmentally responsible operations.

You will oversee vehicle acquisition and disposal, safety/compliance, fuel and maintenance, data management, and fleet budgeting. A strong leadership and knowledge of fleet regulations are essential.

Qualifications

• Six years of progressively responsible fleet experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience with fleet management databases and related tools.
• Ability to obtain a professional fleet certification within 12 months of hire.
• Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that affect fleet operations, including OSHA, commercial vehicle requirements, purchasing, pollution control, building codes, and fire safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee road vehicles, off-road equipment, trailers, and attachments.
• Supervise the purchase and disposal of fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Oversee CDL/CMV, accidents, insurance, and fleet training.
• Oversee fuel management and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and repaired.
• Administer fleet rates, financial analysis, and budgeting activities.
• Oversee fleet databases, account records, and billing.
