Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking a Procurement Officer I for the Western Regional Office. The role covers purchasing functions in line with VPPA, DPS/DGS policies and agency procedures.

You will prepare procurement documents and train staff on the eVA system to ensure timely, accurate purchasing. The position requires knowledge of state procurement rules, ability to evaluate bids, and coordination with vendors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VPPA, DPS/DGS procurement rules and agency policies.
• Ability to evaluate bids/ RFPs and purchase orders for goods, services, and equipment.
• Ability to complete COI filing within required timeframes and complete COI training as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely purchasing functions in compliance with VPPA, DPS/DGS and agency policies.
• Prepare procurement documents: specifications, IFBs and RFPs.
• Train staff on the eVA system and purchasing requirements.
• Keep Supervisor aware of potential problems and resolve them promptly.
• Coordinate vendor evaluations and ensure policy adherence.
