Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician II for Mayo River State Park. The role performs semi-skilled trades, maintains grounds and facilities, operates equipment, and may supervise staff or volunteers on special projects.

The position requires experience in multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical or auto mechanics) and grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated work experience performing trades in at least two of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.
• Experience in grounds maintenance/landscaping.
• Experience in maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance, and/or auto mechanics.
• Operate large and small equipment and tools.
• Purchase resources per state policies and procedures.
• Maintain records and prepare operational forms.
• Assist in housekeeping.
• May supervise temporary staff, volunteers or community service participants on special projects.
